Wildcats Basketball
February 14, 2012 - Our 2011-2012 season is over. Both teams ended the season with the best records in school history for our Wildcat Basketball program. The girls finished 16-7 and the boys finished 17-12.
We had our 3rd annual Parents vs Kids game on Monday February 13th. Both games were tons of fun and we had great participation from our basketball families. "Team Old School" won both the boys and girls games, 66-65, and 44-38.
The boys finished their last game of the season on Thursday February 9th vs Harmony Science. They lost a thrilling game 61-62. Coach Andrews says "We lost our last two games by a total of 3 points. This is where we have to grow as a unit. We will learn how to finish ball games. This was a tremendous season building toward the growth and development of the boy's program. I want to thank all of the parents and faculty for their continuing support, without it we would not be where we are today. I also want to thank the players for providing our boys program with it's first winning season. Thank you all for making this a very special season. Go Wildcats!"
Our girls played their last game on Thursday versus Harmony. They went into overtime after a well fought game and won 35-33. Harmony had just won the Texas Charter Schools State Championship game on Saturday before they came to play us. We knew they were a tough team, but we fought hard and never backed down. I honestly could not have asked for a better group of young ladies this year. They never gave up no matter what the score was, and they came to practice ready to work each day. This is the second year in a row that we have had a winning record and we just keep getting better each day. I'm excited for our future girls program with so many young players, and positive attitudes. Thank you to all the parents and faculty again for your never ending support. Our entire Basketball program appreciates all that you do for us.
Hope to see you in the stands next year! Go Wildcats!
